Was versteht man unter der "Galvano Therapie"?

The galvaionic 75/32 is a second generation galvano therapy device. It was developed with the fundamental requirement that it be capable of controlling up to 24 electrodes. These can be switched on or off individually, which makes it possible to program needle sequences in the control device.

This and the ability to measure current flow on an electrode make it possible to homogenously treat tumor tissue. The current which flows through the electrode on a cumulative basis is set by the physician and held constant by the hardware.

Since it is also possible that the full voltage may not always be desired during treatment, a maximum value can be preset. A micro-controller program ensures that the current flow is held constant and that the corresponding voltage value is calculated. This effective current value is fed back to the physician for monitoring purposes, of course. In addition to this and the aforementioned current values on the electrodes, the effective applied voltage and total resistance are also displayed and logged.

The device monitors all settings and ensures that all values remain within the specified range. In addition, the patient also has the ability to interrupt treatment by actuating the emergency kill switch. The documentation of the course of the treatment also has to meet the highest demands. Hence the condition of each needle is documented for every second of treatment. Furthermore, the overall course of treatment is also documented, down to the second.

If required, each individual course of treatment can also be viewed in more detail and printed out as well. At the end of each treatment a report with key treatment features is printed out which can be added to the patient’s file. Data security has also been accounted for, a USB memory stick being included with the device for the purpose.
